Death Valley Dunes

Death Valley Dunes

This week I decided to follow up on last week’s dunes post. Specifically, I wanted to show additional photos I took over two trips to this National Park. I’m working on something from Zabriskie Point for next week.

In this photo I wanted to emphasize the ripples of the foreground dune in contrast to the smoothness of the second hill and the range in the background.

I liked the way this composiiton leads the viewer into the landscape.

Everything isn’t smooth. Here I lead you on a path into the barren part of the dunes.

I mentioned a place for kids to play. Here’s a view of that space

Unlike the smooth barren sections of the dunes where you have to be careful you don’t sink when you start down one side, this portion is hard pack and ideal for “horsing around”. It’s dad safe and mom approved for the kids.

Do you prefer one scene over the others? Is one of these not your idea of a dune(s)? Let me know in the comments.
