Postcards from Perris

Postcards from Perris
Los Angeles railway Trolley (LARy 3100)

That is not a typographic error. Perris is in the desert of California and is a long way from Paris, France. Today’s postcard was taken at the Southern California Railway Museum. SCRM is open the public. It is a great place to ride the rails in an electric street car and learn how the trolleys and trains created modern Southern California. They have special event days and static displays guaranteed to enthrall kids and dads alike. There is a static display of the Harvey Girls and too much to list here. Check out their website at http://www.socalrailway.org.

Photo notes: This image was taken with a Yashica 124G TLR using Kodak E100 slide film. Even though I don’t own a medium format slide projector, and never will, using transparency film is rewarding because I can see the image as soon as it’s developed without the need to scan and change the negative image to a positive one. In the future when I’ve forgotten where I was or what the day was like, positive film gives me true look at the image without needing some digital interpretation via a software program. I may choose to tweak the colors at some future time, but this is how it really looked.
